Thank you for including NJ Safe & Sound on the Resources page of the SEDUCED website. All involved in the production of this outstanding documentary are to be commended for their public service.
Since 2012, NJ Safe & Sound (www.njsafeandsound.org) volunteers have been advocating for public policy to address predatory alienation and coercive control. As Naomi Gibson so poignantly stated in episode 4 of your series, “Exposed,” “Cult leaders around the world should live in fear, not us.” Sadly, as I noted in an op-ed piece for the Times Union of Albany, once a person reaches the age of legal majority, those who most care about them lose all rights to help them escape from the psychological bondage imposed by the Keith Ranieres of the world, even if they have evidence of a pattern of deceptive control with no informed consent:
I applaud the uplifting call to action with which you ended your series, and hope that it will lead to a concerted national movement to stop expecting those who get caught in the net of undue influence to extricate themselves, and start holding accountable those who cast it.
